Dear Miss Fong,

Thanks for escorting me around Cypress on March 18th, 2005. The trip to Cypress was unforgettable, and I still have the pictures we took in Cypress on that day. Today, I am writing this letter in the hope of a full time position at Cypress as an Application Engineer (Job Ref # 470702), particularly in the network search team.

Actually, it was my Digital Design Course (CS 150) final project that prompted me to apply for this position. I implemented a music system on FPGA, which collected music data from the network and played the music using the AC97 chip. After the project, I wanted to learn more about system level logic designs for networking solutions. Consequently, this semester I took a Networking Course (EECS 122) to learn more about networking jargon and protocols.

Jason Feng, a recent intern from UC Berkeley, discussed his experience in Cypress with me. Jason, my friend, was part of the network search team during Fall 2004, and he advised me regarding classes I should take and skills I should acquire in order to work in the network search team. I prepared myself accordingly, because I am sure Cypress is the company I want to work for.

Application Engineer seems to be the position for me. In May 2005, I found a home-grown circuit board that used a Cypress A/D converter chip laying in my research laboratory in Japan. I realized Cypress chips were used all over the world, and I hoped my ability in Japanese and Chinese would assist my work as an Application Engineer in Cypress.

I understand Cypress has a rotation program for new employees, and I would look forward to being in such program. I wish we will work together in Cypress a year from now.

Sincerely,

Bill Hung
