Dear Pamela L. Burnett, Director of Undergraduate Admissions,
I am Bill Hung, an admitted transfer student for Fall 2004. I am now
writing for the admission-pending case of Tang Cheung Wang, my
friend. Tang Cheung Wang is a winner, a leader, and
a nice friend. UC Berkeley has every reasons to
admit Tang Cheung Wang.
First of all, please let me introduce myself. I am a 4.0GPA student
from De Anza College who received scholarships from various sources.
I was the President and the Founder of De Anza Science and
Engineering Association (
www.dasea.org)
at De Anza College. Being accepted by UC Berkeley was very important
to me, and
if it wasn't Tang Cheung Wang, I couldn't
make my way to the most competitive Engineering major at Berkeley
- EECS.
Please allow me to tell you a story. Two quarters ago in the Fall
quarter, I was taking the most difficult math class with the hardest
instructor on campus. The questions I had to answer were extremely
hard that neither the graduated students nor other Math instructors
on campus were able to answer. I was in the most stressful
situation where I couldn't answer those ridiculously hard questions,
and getting a bad grade in the class would seriously jeopardize
my admittance to UC Berkeley.
At that most stressful time, it was Tang Cheung Wang
who helped me along the way, and eventually made me the best student
in class. He gave me the confidence to defy the
challenging questions from my instructor, and in turn made me a
person who wants to benefit others at all time. With Tang Cheung
Wang being my mentor, I started volunteering to tutor others in
Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, and Engineering Classes for 10 hours
per week. Tang Cheung Wang has definitely made a
difference in my life.
Tang Cheung Wang is not only the best student we have, but also the
leader we all look up to. Tang Cheung Wang's excellent academic
talent can easily put him in the Top 1% of all the students. In
other words, he is the best. Tang Cheung Wang is the one to whom we
seek help on, and he have helped many of us. With
Tang Cheung Wang's ability, he should be accepted by all the Top
Universities in the Nation.
I give the highest recommendation to Tang Cheung Wang. In my
opinion, UC Berkeley must not neglect such a wonderful person like
Tang Cheung Wang.
Yours Truly,
Bill Hung
President of De Anza Science and Engineering Association
