Observing the Hamburger Stand this Saturday For the Observing of the Hamburger Stand, ![]()
The ICC Code (For which I have forgotten I have read)
said we should show up at 9am to observe the hamburger stand, but when I
talked to La Donna, the ICC Advisor, she suggested us to show up at 8am.
Therefore, I guess we can show up at 8:30am at the ATC/Food
Desk/Backdoor of the Bookstore place like we did last time.

Everyone has a tent, DASEA should have one also

Event: Observing the Hamburger Stand

People who said, "Yes, I will be there.": Kevin (half
day), Gary, Bill, Kelly
People who said, "No, I can't make it.": Mike, Charls, Donald People who haven't made up their mind: Eunice, Jane, Shirly, Dan, Dennis
We only need 5 people, not 7 people like I said, for
this Saturday's hamburger stand.
The Forseti Federation is doing the Hamburger stand
alone for the first time on this saturday. La Donna (ICC Advisor) told
me that DASEA is not going to get observing credit even we show up on
Saturday and observe. This is because, according to her, a guy in the
food service (named "Cloud"?) does not want any club to observe the
hamburger stand while the Forseti Federation is fairly new on the matter
of hamburgers.

De Anza AutoTech Department
In my understandings, "Cloud" doesn't like anyone
execpt the AutoTech to do the hamburger stand at all. AutoTech has been
doing the hamburger stand for many years, and when the Forseti
Federation tried to do the hamburger stand, the Forseti faced much
difficulties. The Forseti Federation had to find support from the
Senate, the ICC, the La Voz(De Anza Newspaper), and several instructors
in order to fight for the position of the hamburger stand. When the
Forseti Federation finally made it for their hamburger stand, I said
"That was legendary. That's something to put in the De Anza History."
"Yes, absolutely." Marc said. I think Marc also said the AutoTech has
done the hamburger stand for 7 years already, not too sure if I heard
correctly. I bet "Cloud"(the food service guy) probably thinks, "Hell,
one more Forseti club, and no more." However, for the other 60 De Anza
Clubs like us, it is not fair. How come the AutoTech and Forseti can do
the hamburger stand but DASEA can't?
![]() The profit of the hamburger stand is huge(can be 6 times larger), but the Forseti Federation is cool with the money. Marc, the founder of the forseti federation told me, he thinks it is not fair if only one club at De Anza (AutoTech) can do the hamburger stand. On the other hand, the forseti federation is nicer for our DASEA to observe, because they are not as picky as the AutoTech Club. The AutoTech Club will watch every moves we make, and the club that is doing the hamburger stand on Saturday (the Forseti in this case) is the only club that can tell whether DASEA has observed the hamburger stand the whole time or not. The Club that does the hamburger stand is the one who really has the power to disapprove us. ![]()
La Donna suggested us to observe the hamburger stand
in June instead. However, in June, the mean, nasty (to me) AutoTech club
is doing the hamburger stand, and it will be more difficult for us to
observe. Plus, in June, not only us, but the APASL club(the club of minh
singer who promoted his club in our meeting) will be there in June to
observe too. Thus, if we do it in June, 2 clubs are observing the mean
(to me) AutoTech club, and "Cloud" may deny us all together. This is why
I still want to try the May Flea Market. And, if we don't start, we may
not have enough people after some of our officers transfer.

According to La Donna, the club that is observing the
hamburger stand should provides 5 people that are NOT going to be
transferred, (but who cares? who knows?) and the ones who observe should
be there for the whole day and there should be no work splitting (but
not the real case for DASEA). We should wear appropriate clothes, and so
forth.

We we be at the top of this picture, check

So I guess I will see you guys on Saturday 8:30am at
ATC/Food Desk then. We may be turned down by "Cloud" and head home right
afterwards anyway. Well, Good Luck.
